After seeing this post I was extremely excited to come up with an idea and get it submitted, and that’s what I did! Enter the Deck Them Alls!

Also enter hours of porting from Blender to TF2!

The idea was to wrap the Heavy’s fists in holiday lights with a battery duct tapped to the back of his hand to power them. Pretty simple right? After submitting the original idea I got feedback from the Steam and polycount communities, and ended up adding team themed colors for the lights! They even GLOWED in game! That’s beside the point.

As soon as the winners of the competition rolled around, I was disappointed I wasn’t one of them. Understandable however, there were a lot of great items submitted this year and who can really compete against a giant Russian man wearing woolly mittens? But wait, what’s THIS? Valve decided to incorporate all the original weapons covered in holiday lights as well?!  At least I had a good idea.

However, I learned quite a bit about this pipeline of work and will most definitely be submitting more items to the workshop in the future! In the meantime, back to working on a small project for Skyrim.
